Comparison of POF, PE and PVC Shrink Film

Different Uses

PE heat-shrinkable film and PVC film is widely used in wine, cans, mineral water, a variety of beverages, cloth and other products of the whole collection of packaging, the product is flexible, impact resistance, tear resistance, not easy to break, not afraid of moisture, shrinkage rate.

Due to the unique properties of PVC (rain, fire, anti-static, easy to mold) and PVC low input and high yield characteristics, is widely used in the building materials industry and packaging industry, so the PVC film has a high degree of transparency, good gloss, shrinkage rate and other characteristics.

POF is a kind of heat shrinkable film, mainly used for packaging regular and irregular shape products, due to its non-toxic environmental protection, high transparency, high shrinkage, good heat sealing performance, high gloss, strong toughness, tear resistance, heat shrinkage uniformity and suitable for automatic high-speed packaging and other characteristics, is the traditional PVC film of the replacement product.

PVC film widely used in automotive products, plastic products, stationery, books, electronics, circuit boards, MP3, VCD, handicrafts, photo frames and other wood products, toys, insecticides, daily necessities, food, cosmetics, canned beverages, dairy products, pharmaceuticals, cassettes and videotapes and other products.

Third, the physical properties of different advantages and disadvantages

1、Cost

POF specific gravity of 0.92, the thinnest thickness of 0.01mm, the actual unit cost is lower.

PE specific gravity 0.92, thickness of the thinnest 0.03 above, the actual unit cost is higher.

PVC specific gravity 1.4, the thinnest thickness of 0.02mm, the actual unit cost is higher.

2, physical properties

POF thin and tough, uniform thickness, good moisture resistance, soft texture. High tensile strength, tear strength, adjustable shrinkage. Because of the existence of LLDPE, better resistance to kneading.

PE is thick and tough, uniform thickness, good moisture resistance, soft texture. Tear strength is lower than POF, but much higher than PVC, shrinkage rate adjustability is poor. Kneading resistance is not as good as POF.

PVC is thick and brittle, uneven thickness, poor moisture resistance, hard and brittle texture. Low strength, low shrinkage, poor rub resistance.

3、Cold resistance and other physical properties

POF cold resistance is excellent, -50 ℃ is not hard and not brittle, not easy to rupture, can be used for frozen food packaging. After shrink-wrapping, -50 ℃ -95 ℃ is packaged for long-term storage, stable and unchanged. With static electricity and anti-fog treatment, it is not easy to pollute dust, and can keep the products clean and bright.

PE cold resistance is excellent, after winter or freezing, it is not hardened, not brittle, so it is not easy to rupture in transportation. With static electricity elimination treatment, it is not easy to pollute dust and can keep the product clean.

PVC has very poor cold resistance and will become brittle in winter or after freezing, so it is easy to break during transportation. The longer it is shrink-wrapped, the tighter the shrinkage will be, and the packaged objects will be deformed. No static electricity elimination treatment, easy to get dust, so that the product pollution fuzzy.

4、Processing performance

POF processing does not produce moisture and will not stick to the sealing rod, easy maintenance and operation. High toughness, smoothness and rub resistance make it suitable for high-speed production line automatic packaging.

PE does not generate moisture during processing and does not stick to the sealing rod, making maintenance and operation easy. High toughness and low rub resistance make it suitable for high speed line automated packaging.

PVC film will produce volatile substances, easy to cause mechanical damage, and easy to stick to the sealing rod, inconvenient operation, maintenance difficulties.
